About me

Who am I ?

I am Jayashree S.  Professionally I am a lawyer.  I live with my husband and son.

Travel is my passion and I have travelled extensively through length and breadth of India.  From North to South, India is about 3200 Km and from East to West it is another 3,000Km.  India has always surprised me with its diversity.  The more I learn about my country, I keep realising how much more is there still to learn.

I am also associated with a non-profit organisation to help teach mathematics to kids in the age group of 12 to 14 years in rural areas of India through on-line teaching.  I see a great hunger in most of these rural kids to learn new things and it’s a pleasure to help such ardent kids.

Why am I here ?

Fundamental objective of this website is to be a ‘one stop’ source of information on India irrespective of the topic.  This idea was conceived when my son, at the age of 12 to 13, was doing various projects for his school work and I could see him struggle to collect authentic information. Though information is available in abundance on the web, it appears either to be vague or fragmented or too sophisticated to decipher anything meaningful out of such ocean of inconsistent information.  This nudged me to start thinking of establishing a website which will provide all basic information about India in a way most it can be understood easily without having to go through the maze of webpages!

This idea was further refined and currently the website aims to provide basic information on India for school kids/ tourists/ researchers/ potential tourists to India/ general information seekers on India.  All views expressed in this website are based on my personal insights and experience.

Current form of the website is a sincere efforts to present information on India in a simple fashion for comprehension of people from all walks of life.  Of course the website would keep evolving with the time.  Started in Aug 2016, it has grown into ~ 200 web pages in a span of over two years.
